I’m critically acclaimed Author Michael Evans and nationally distributed by Baker-Taylor, known to many New Yorkers and friends as Midtown Mike.
You see, I was one of the top 3-card Monte dealers in Midtown Manhattan during the 80s. I am no stranger to redemption in an urban setting. I grew up poor on the streets of the Bronx with an alcoholic mother, no father, and my mother’s cousin Reggie, whose moral compass was totally bizarre, buck wild and crazy.
Over the past 27 years I have evolved from a conniving street hustler into a responsible father of two and are you ready for this? A retired Correction Officer.
Through my own publishing company, Monte Me Publishing, I put out my first book – my Autobiography – It was all in the Cards: The Life and Times of Midtown Mike. I sold over 15,000 copies of this book and my readers were begging me to write more and write faster. Within a year, I put out my second book, Son of a Snitch, which sold over 20,000 copies and is considered a certified classic. Thanks to you, my readers, Son of a Snitch – Part 2: The Bastard was even a greater success! Part 3 of this trilogy series, The Reincarnation of Snitch Killer Jessie Thompson is scheduled to launch on May 1, 2012.
